Evening Yoga Poses: Bahama Bliss by Akasha
Compass Point Beach Resort is a gorgeous place to be! Pretty colored sea huts dot the shoreline next to landscaped greenery in front a long pier that juts outward to an expanse of ocean. It is hard to imagine that it is only 5 minutes from the airport. The turquoise waters stretch as far as the eye can see, and while standing on the pier it is apparent how easy it is to be inspired to practice here.
I personally enjoyed the fresh and calming atmosphere, the clean sandy shore and cheerful staff. The heat of the day gave way to a windy evening bringing in clouds and white caps. In response, I rolled my mat away and practiced on the bare wood. It was simultaneously a warm and cool sensation.
Sun Salutation Poses (Surya Namaskara) are foundational postures. Performed on their own are a great little practice to limber up all the major joints in the body, stimulate general circulation, deepen a rhythmical breath flow, and loosen knots from the spine. For those with limited time 5-10 rounds of Sun Salutations can clear out stagnant liver blood, & thoughts at the end of a day! Sun Salutations can also get you going in the morning.
Warrior Poses, Virabhadrasana 1, 2, and 3 can be linked together as a walking lunge series for greater leg strength and a positive temporary boost to heart circulation. Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced instruction all incorporate Warrior poses. Enjoy the feeling and benefits of your exercises! Om. The Song in this video: “Hari Bol Hari Bol” by Akasha.
