Power Of Intention in Yoga Posture Practice
It might seem that words are simple and pass by in a few seconds; and while words do buzz by with the speed of sound, it is also true that many people at the speed of a neuron are holding in memory various statements, questions, lyrics, exclamation sounds, groaning sounds, sad sounds and so forth. This knowledge gathering is used to gain understanding and wisdom in living. Deeper than this is the Ahamkara or the “i” maker. Behind the “i” maker intentions, desires, aversions, and impressions reside. Like a reservoir of water waiting for an opportunity to flow, the mind-stuff waits until it is told when it should be applied. This process is for the most part automatic. But what if there are certain situations, people and things that we wish to change our internal response to? Re-establishing or setting intention in meditation, before any activity such as Yoga Poses, can prove to be a magnificent tool to develop the self. Positive statements about reality are like dynamite; they blow out the old. The mind goes to work to make a new reality. Intention is the ability to reinvent the “i” maker. The potential comes forward there after to follow through to manifest a new experience. May all beings everywhere be happy. Namaste.
